During the pharaohs rise in Egypt they began making wine from red grapes, which closely resembled blood and thus used in ceremonies. From there wine began to colonize the entire world. The history of Amethyst has always been intertwined with the history of wine as the Greeks believed it to be associated with Bacchus the god of wine.
